Discovering restaurants.
Hi! I know, when you are on vacation you don’t really want to cook but usually you prefer to go to a restaurant, even if in our “Villa Dolce Vita” you will find all the tools to prepare any dish.
In another blog article I have already told you about the typical dishes of Istria, now let’s dive in through the restaurants and the surrounding area of Premantura.
My partner Valeria and I have tried them all and we have always had a good time, now it’s up to you to choose.
I will list you a series of restaurants that you will find in Premantura and its surroundings.

Restaurants in Premantura
Da Giovanni is the closest to our Villa, it is about 100 meters away. He can be seen as soon as you arrive in Premantura, he is on the left after the fountain. Excellent for quality-price ratio. The menu varies between meat, fish, pasta and pizza. I recommend you fusi with goulash (typical Istrian dish) or mixed shells (mussels, scallops, clams. etc.), the portions are generous and the staff is very friendly, Giovanni and his son Angelo are always ready to welcome you with a handshake. The restaurant has a large veranda, usually no reservations are required, perfect for large families. In front of it there is also a garden with games for the little ones.
Konoba Casa Mia is located behind the main square of Premantura. The price range is a bit higher but the quality of the food is excellent. The menu varies between meat and fish, let yourself be advised by the owner, a very kind and helpful girl. Although being small it is quite nice. Reservations are required.
Stellina is located after the entrance to Premantura going towards the main square down a small street on the left, excellent for quality-price. The menu varies between meat, fish, pasta and pizza. The restaurant has a large veranda, reservations are best made especially in the period of July-August.
Poli Krivog is located behind the main square, it is a very familiar place and is also attended by the locals. You can eat both meat and fish and the price is great. We also like to go there to drink just a beer and have a chat with the owner who is very nice. It feels like home. The place is small and it is best to book.
Konoba Ancora is located behind the Main Square, here the specialty is fish. The price range is a bit higher and the quality is good. The place is large and very elegant. Reservations are recommended.
Restaurants around Premantura.
Batelina is located in Banjole a couple of kilometers from Premantura. This restaurant is on the Michelin guide and says of them “Although advance booking is required and the restaurant does not accept credit cards, Batelina’s fame extends far beyond Istria, and for good reason: the fish served here is freshly caught and of the highest quality. In this simple and welcoming restaurant you will find a superb selection of fish, which is announced at your table and varies according to the catch of the day ”. The price is definitely above average but it’s worth a try.
Casa Nostra is located in Medulin about 8 km from Premantura. The menu varies between meat, fish, pasta and pizza. The quality-price ratio is good. In the period July-August it is better to book even if the place is very large.
Konoba Istriana is located in Pomer about 5 km from Premantura. The restaurant has an outdoor veranda. The menu varies between meat and fish. The staff is very friendly. The quality-price ratio is excellent and the quantities are plentiful.
Kamik is located in Banjole a couple of kilometers from Premantura. It is impossible not to see it, when you are on the main road that takes you to Premantura from Pola, you will see its large always steaming barbecue with a pig that is roasting. The specialty is meat but you will also find fish and pizza. The quality-price ratio is good.
Konoba Boccaporta is located in Pula 8 km from Premantura. The menu varies between meat and fish. my advice is the lamb cooked in bell, a delicacy! The quality-price ratio is excellent. Reservation is required.
Fish Food More is located in Pula 8 km from Premantura. The menu is only the catch of the day. It’s a very special place you order directly at the refrigerated counter. The first courses bring them to you directly in the pan. The quality-price ratio is excellent and the portions are generous. I recommend the squid ink risotto. It is advisable to book because there are few seats.
All the restaurants have exposed the menu with all the prices outside.
Many places serve food at any time of the day but I always advise you to book especially in the months of July-August.
